As the people manager for one of 4 shifts, you will manage a team of up to 27 within the Generation Department. You will spend approx 50 % of your time on plant with your team, planning, organising, managing and motivating them to ensure they work effectively and safely - setting, monitoring and upholding high standards at all times. The balance of your time will be spent in an office or control room environment managing resources, coaching, mentoring and managing people, and generally supporting the Shift Manager to ensure the smooth running of the power station on a day to day basis. You will become a pivotal and vital part of a shift team and the wider generation management team.
£46,000 to £55,000 pa (including shift allowance)

What is important to us is that you have strong leadership and management skills, which will be demonstrated by how you communicate, engage and influence people in an environment where team work is key. With experience of managing people in an operational environment, you will embrace change, using your strong interpersonal and influencing skills to challenge current thinking and deliver improvements to processes and the team.
You need a high level of general environmental and safety understanding, as you will need to get up to speed quickly with our very high compliance standards.
