To act as a member of the Shift Management Team primarily supervising the Shift Operational staff. Ensure that the shift is Covered at all times to at least minimum staffing levels with due regard to staff competences, first aid and fire teams, training etc With the shift manager implement and monitor Training and succession plans for the shift. Be integral in the training of new starters and ensure all training records are up to date and recorded. Be a Safety standards leader and ensure that the safety kick offs are completed at the start of each shift. Ensure that all operations are in line with the “Four pillars of safety” Develop “Plant Ownership” and help define what is and what is not acceptable with regard to plant standards. Be able to challenge others who do not respect our plant. Ensure plant routine testing is being completed and recorded and also that the shift routes are completed to a high standard and that data collected is downloaded and utilised. Carry out 6 monthly and year end appraisals including PDP. With shift manager confirm staff expectations/PDP. Reward good performers, identify and deal with underperformers. Be highly visible within the shift and outside on the plant. Be able to hold our staff and others to account. Be involved with staff recruitment and selection. Ensure that all operation procedures are being followed and plant testing done and recorded. With the Shift manager monitor staff attitude and performance, record any issues or actions taken. |
