The turbine retrofit project is the biggest of its kind in the UK. A confident Supervisor with power plant maintenance experience, you’ll help shape its success by joining the small, close-knit project team.
More specifically, you’ll co-ordinate sub contractors and liaise with a major turbine retrofit contractor, manage mechanical engineering budgets and steer projects. The focus here will be on ensuring their safety, operational and reliability aspects.
Clearly, there will be an element of the role that’s about leading by example. That means you’ll need excellent analytical and communication skills, plus an in-depth knowledge of large steam turbine plant, in particular plant maintenance.
What will really set you apart, though, will be the ability to motivate others – both colleagues and contractors – even when the company are at their busiest. The summer months can be quite intense as that is when we conduct most of the maintenance and repair work. So you’ll need to combine an inspirational manner with a cool, calm, collected approach.
Support these qualities with the ability to set engineering and project management best practice and a clear commercial focus, then this will be a move to remember. Not least, because you’ll play a major part in the growth and drive to reduce their environmental impact.
