You’ve already mastered the essentials of boiler engineering. Now it’s time to add another dimension to your expertise and to step up to the next stage in a large production team.
The company can offer all the responsibility you could wish for. You’ll take accountability for developing and implementing the status and strategy for the boiler and boiler auxiliary plant area. Alongside this, you’ll manage some of the mechanical engineering budgets, complete project work to deadline, cost and the highest standards, plus develop mechanical engineering best practice across all functions.
It’s a brief for someone who likes to be at the centre of the action. As well as liaising between Maintenance and Operations teams, you’ll work with these teams to prepare work scopes and improve outage efficiency. You’ll be a source of technical expertise, the font of all engineering knowledge and the guru of project management best practice. Suppliers, contractors, consultants and insurance engineers will all fall within your sphere of influence.
With a remit this wide, you’ll need at least an engineering equivalent qualification to HNC level or higher. The company also looking for knowledge of large coal-fired boilers, plus the ambition
to step up to the next stage in a large production team. Add strong analytical skills, flexibility and a logical mind, then you’re close to the perfect profile. Especially if you adapt quickly to changing business needs and have a strong business focus.
