SCOPE OF ROLE:
• A key member of the Business Development Analysis (BDA) team reporting to the Commercial Analysis Manager and assisting the senior financial analysts in the team.
• To control, coordinate, create and develop accurate financial assumptions and modelling tools for investment appraisals.
• Provide project assessment analysis to large ongoing investments.
• Assist fuel procurement and logistics in analysing and challenging existing and potential contracts.
• Provide ad hoc analytical and substantive reports at the discretion of the Board on a range of financial and commercial performance issues.

• Flexible team player who is prepared to work on any project or routine analytical process as required.
• Required to work closely with management team members and key trading team members to ensure accurate, relevant and timely cash/financial forecasts.
• Required to accurately maintain all financial models.
• Required to have excellent modelling and analytical skills to develop and enhance complex financial models and reports.
• Have excellent organisational, communication and project management skills.
• Required to have ability to reconcile complex financial outcomes and assumptions across separate financial models.
• Required to support ad hoc presentations at any level within the organisation on any key financial issue, but most especially investment appraisal and project reporting.

PERSON DIMENSIONS:
• Preferably a Degree, and currently studying for an accounting qualication (50% complete).
• High level MS Office skills, especially Excel.
• Highly motivated, good communication skills and a decision maker.
• Good commercial acumen and analytical experience.
• Ability to set high standards of performance & control and an excellent team player.
• Understand most mainstream management and financial accounting issues.
• An understanding of process/utility Plant Maintenance and Production, logistics issues and a good understanding of the Commodity/Energy Trading environment desirable.
• Work to demanding and extreme deadlines and adapt quickly to changing business needs, providing solutions to problems whilst gaining sign-on to change from all responsible persons.
